Happy hump day, everyone!
Autumn is in full swing here in Boston and it is the perfect time to bust out these burgundy lip shades. I am all about vampy lipsticks, so I rounded up all of the maroon shades I have in my collection to share with you all!
Buxom Full-Bodied Lipstick in Menace: This shade is described as a "rich wine" and that hits the nail on the head! The lipstick is incredibly creamy, glides on easily, and keeps my lips feeling moisturized throughout the day. Unfortunately I couldn't find this line of lipsticks online anymore, so I have a sneaking suspicion that they've since been discontinued. Womp.
Tarte Lipsurgence Skintuitive Lip Tint in Moody: I love wearing this shade when I want to deepen up the color of my lips just a bit without being in-your-face. These lip tints are fairly sheer and super hydrating as lipbalms often are but have the staying power of a lip tint, which I find incredibly unique. They also contain peppermint oil which plumps up my lips and leaves a satisfying cooling sensation. This particular shade is on sale on Tarte's website for $12 instead of $24 and does not appear on Sephora's website anymore, so get it now before it's discontinued if you're looking for a subtle pop of fall color that is work-appropriate!
Nyx Butter Lipstick in Licorice: This is one of my all time favorite lipsticks! It is a jaw-droppingly gorgeous deep purpleish red shade. And it is so pigmented right from the first swipe! These lipsticks glide onto the lips so easily and keep them hydrated and happy. They're currently only $3.99 on Ulta's website, so go pick up this shade for fun spooky lips!
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Copenhagen: I would describe this shade as a deep raspberry that darkens up even further with a few coats. It dries down to a matte texture but is not completely transfer-proof, and it has a lovely vanilla scent. I find that this shade in particular applies quite patchy, so it definitely requires a couple of coats to really pack a punch and get your desired color pay-off. However, I love the shade so much that it makes up for the issues in consistency to me. You can buy it on Ulta's website for $6.99.
MAC Cremesheen Glass in Richly Revered: I have to admit, I don't reach for this one as often as I should because I don't typically opt for lip glosses. Boston is a windy city, I have long hair, one thing leads to another and my hair is plastered to my sticky lips. However I definitely need to use this gloss more this fall because it is beautiful! This shade is sheer as glosses always are, but has a brownish-red tint that would be lovely if paired on top of a nude lipstick. You can purchase this gloss on Mac's website for $21.
Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Vintage: I blogged about this shade in my initial review of the Nyx Liquid Suede lipsticks a few weeks ago, but it is truly a must-have for the fall season. It dries down matte to a rich brownish-maroon shade. You can read about my opinions on the texture and staying power in the post linked above, but I'll reiterate that these lipsticks are the love of my life and you 10000% need them. You can buy them for $6.99 on Ulta's website so buying this shade won't break the bank too badly. Yes, I am enabling you ;).
Colourpop Lippie Stix in Dalia: This is another one of my favorite burgundy shades out of the lot that I have. It appears as a deep cranberry shade without the brown undertones that Vintage has. It's a creamy lipstick that glides on super smoothly, but can be a bit patchy. This can be remedied by applying multiple coats. Unfortunately, I couldn't find this shade on Colourpop's website anymore and my heart broke into a million pieces. I did find the shade Ellarie which looks pretty close - you can buy that shade on their website for $5. If you've tried out that shade then lemme know how it looks!
Below are the swatches for each of the lipsticks:
So there you have it! As the leaves begin to fall and the air crisps up, grab your pumpkin spice lattes and one of these lipsticks and you'll be the epitome of autumn!
