HAPPY HALLOWEEN, BOO-TIES! (ha-ha, get it?)
I hope that all of you who celebrate the holiday are having a spooky day filled with tricks and (mostly) treats! I received a package full of goodies in the mail, so this Monday isn't shaping up to be too rough. It's hard for me to believe that it's already the last day of October, but that means it's only appropriate to talk about some of the products I've been loving this month!
First off we have the Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Oh, Put it On. I briefly talked about this lipstick in my Nyx Haul post at the beginning of the month, but since then I've really put it to the test and I cannot get enough of it! This shade is absolutely perfect for a bold, vampy fall look. It's a deep blackberry shade that appears to be black at first glance but is actually a super luxurious deep purple. This shade pairs gorgeously with a silver smokey eye, a simple neutral eye, or a cool-toned purple eye look. It effortlessly adds a bold pop of color to otherwise simple looks which is what I love the most about it. If you're trying to branch out of your comfort zone, I highly recommend you pick this one up. If you want to learn more about wear time, texture, etc. of this line of lip creams, check out my review of them here. You can buy them from Ulta for the low price of $6.99.
Secondly, we have Colourpop's Super Shock Cheek in the shade Cheerio. You can purchase this product from Colourpop's website for $8. I absolutely adore this blush! It's a gorgeous cranberry shade with some subtle sparkle to place your face in the spotlight. It's incredibly pigmented on one swipe, but can easily be sheered with either your fingers or a fluffy blush brush. This blush also lasts forever - it will last me all day without fail, especially when I use a setting spray. This shade reminds me of my grandma's cranberry sauce on Thanksgiving, so honestly what's not to love?
Thirdly, we have Urban Decay's Perversion mascara. You can purchase this mascara from either Sephora or Ulta for $22 (or $10 for the travel size) or Ulta I must admit that when I first tried this mascara I really wasn't a fan of it. The formula is incredibly wet which initially posed a problem for me as I did not have a reliable eyelash comb. After receiving a metal eyelash comb from my lovely boyfriend for my birthday, I discovered that I actually really like this mascara! It's jet-black and does a great job at both lengthening and volumizing my poor, sparse eyelashes. I think this is thanks to the brush - it's a full and fluffy with no tricks or gimmicks to it which I really appreciate. It does apply a bit goopy and can mark up your face if you apply sloppily, but it wipes off easily and does not smudge for the rest of the day once dry! A good eyelash comb will work out any clumps that may form due to the wetness of the formula. Being that it's wet and thick, I find that I really only need one coat to get the job done! I've been using it consistently for the past few weeks after finding myself in a mascara-slump and it has finally given me some hope for my puny lashes.
Next, we have the Colourpop Creme Gel Liner in Best O. You can purchase this from Colourpop's website for $5. This is a gorgeous, rich burgundy shade that's very appropriate for the fall season. I love tight lining with this shade to highlight my hazel eyes as well as applying it on my lower waterline to accent some fall-themed eyeshadow looks. If you lust after burgundy products like I do, this one is a must have. I recently talked about this shade in my review of these liners, so if you'd like to learn more about their weart-time, texture, etc. read here.
Finally, we have the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation (try saying that three times fast). You can purchase this foundation from Sephora for $43. I reviewed this foundation along with its liquid counterpart back in September and noted how I'm not usually a fan of stick foundation, but I've actually grown to really love this one. It's medium coverage and buildable, and doesn't feel sticky like most that I've tried. I love wearing it on days where I need to counterbalance the redness in my skin but want to go lighter on foundation for the day. It applies beautifully with a damp beauty blender, and you really only need a couple of swipes to get the job done. It's also much faster to apply than it is to stipple liquid foundation. This is prime for days where I roll out of bed just a little too late and have to rush to get ready before class. I've used this foundation a lot this month, and I fully intend on continuing to use it for the foreseeable future.
There you have it, girls and ghouls! These are the products that have been getting the most love from me this month. Do you see anything you want to try? Tell me about your favorites for October in the comments below!
