Happy Wednesday everybody!
I hope you all had a lovely holiday. I went on a brief blog hiatus to spend some much needed time with family, food, and fun. I cannot believe that 2016 is already nearly over and that it's already time for my December favorites! This was the first month where winter dryness really started to affect me, so many of these picks are products I used to perform some damage control on my dehydrated skin. Most of the products are also super affordable, so read on if that interests you!
Elf Lip Exfoliator in Mint Maniac: My lips suffer the most in the brutal winter months. Every morning it's an absolute necessity for me to go through a routine of exfoliating and moisturizing my lips before applying any lipstick. I received this lip exfoliator for testing purposes complimentary of Influenster in an Elf Voxbox and found that I really love it. This one isn't too rough on the lips (unlike my experience with a previous Elf lip exfoliator) and it works well to buff off any dry patches on my lips. Plus the mint smells and tastes delicious!
Elf Mineral Infused Face Primer: I also received this product courtesy of Influenster in my Elf Voxbox and was excited to try it as I used to love the Hourglass Mineral Veil primer but ultimately could not afford to continue using it. I found that this product performs pretty dang similarly! It is a silicone-based primer like the Hourglass one which leaves my face with a silky smooth base over which makeup glides. It is not super moisurizing on its own, but I always moisturize my face prior to makeup application and that works well enough for my skin. My only qualm with this product is the packaging - the cap constantly falls off and the bottle is way more bulky than it needs to be.
Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask: Guys. This product is a must-have if you struggle with dry lips. It is the ONLY product (and trust me, I've tried many) that can revive my lips even when they are peeling and cracking. The mask magically works to leave my pout plump and hydrated despite the rough shape they're normally in. I like wearing it overnight and applying it at the very beginning of my makeup routine in the morning. And the best part is, only a tiny little bit is needed to get the job done! I apply this once or twice a day and have had this tube for over a year now - I think it's bound to last me the rest of my life. If you every learn one thing from this blog, it should be that you need this product. You'll thank me later.
Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in Game Face: This is a gooorgeous metallic copper shade that looks fantastic on both the eyelids and the crease. It is super buildable and will make your eyes sparkle and pop like you wouldn't believe. These shadows apply best with your fingers, so I love wearing them on days where I want don't have a ton of time to apply shadow and want just a quick wash of color across my lids. If sparkly orange-brownish tones are your jam, this is an inexpensive and beautiful shadow to try out.
Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Prim: I mentioned this lipstick in my Red Lipsticks for the Holidays post, but in reality I wore it frequently all throughout the month of December. It is a gorgeous deep cool-toned red that just screams winter to me. Plus the Ultra Satin formula isn't drying on my chapped lips so that makes it all the better!
Between finals week stress and the start of cold weather, December was marked by quick makeup looks and skin TLC. For that reason, these are the products I've been eating up this month! What products have you been loving lately? Leave a comment below with some new goodies I should check out!
