Trend to Try: Metallic Eyeliner

Happy Monday!

Today I want to talk about a trend that I've been indulging in pretty frequently lately - metallic eyeliner! I've found that sparkly liner gives my eyes a special pop on days where I want to stick with more neutral eyeshadow shades. Although a matte black wing is generally my liner style of choice, ever since I've mastered the art of metallic liner I've been doing it nonstop.

Starlooks Gem Eye Pencil in Ultra Olive: I received this and my other Starlooks pencil liner in an Ipsy bag one month a while ago but just recently started putting them to use. Ultra Olive is a warm golden brown shade packed full of silver microglitter. These Starlooks pencils are super creamy and pigmented. However, since they are so creamy they do break easily and I have to resharpen them fairly frequently. They also wear off easily and the glitter has a tendency to migrate from my lids to my cheeks. Regardless, Ultra Olive is gorgeous and fun to wear if I'm going out on the town for a few hours.

Starlooks Gem Eye Pencil in Ultra Orchid: Although the same critiques from the previous pencil apply to this one as well, I like this color even more than Ultra Olive. Ultra Orchid is a cool, grape-toned shade that's also packed full of silver microglitter. Purple liner looks gorgeous on brown/hazel eyes and this one certainly is no different!

Mally Beauty Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Liner in Starshine: This liner is everything that the Starlooks liners are not. Creamy, pigmented, yet so long-lasting that it's difficult to remove it from your lids! Starshine is a light silver shade that is just so stunning. Unlike the Starlooks liners it isn't packed with glitter but has a natural sheen to it. Admittedly this shade would be hard to wear on its own, but I love to outline the top of my black winged liner with this to draw more attention to my eyes. Though they are a bit pricey, eventually I would love to buy more shades of this product!

NYX Liquid Crystal Liner in Crystal Onyx: The NYX crystal liners are liquid liners that are suuuuper sparkly and gorgeous. Crystal Onyx has a black base and is packed full of silver sparkles. It's perfect to wear on days where I'd like to pack a little more punch to my typical black winged liner.

NYX Liquid Crystal Liner in Crystal Silk: Crystal Silk is a golden shade with light golden sparkles. It appears to be more of a cooler gold than Crystal Gold from the same line is, which is great for me because I am turned off by yellow-gold tones. I outlined my black wing with this shade for my semi-formal this year to add a little pizzazz to a neutral look and really enjoyed seeing the way that the sparkles reflected light.
