Happy Wednesday, everyone!
Today's post will be short because it's been a super busy week for me! The end of my senior year of undergrad is approaching really quickly. I'm thrilled but also super nervous.
It's been quite some time since I've written a post in the Trend to Try series, but I'm back today to talk about the peach craze that's been all the rage in the beauty world. For some reason I took a long time to jump on the peach bandwagon. I had this weird impression in my head that peach colors wouldn't look good with my skin's pink undertones. But I was wrong! What I love most about this trend is that "peach" can refer to a huge spectrum of shades. It's all about finding what works for you.
So many brands have debuted peachy toned lipsticks lately, but I'll just shade a brief description of the lip products in my personal collection.
Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Mama: Muted burnt orange color. This shade leans more red than orange, but still falls within the peach spectrum in my humble opinion.
Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Life's a Beach: Bright, fun peachy coral color. This shade leans more pink than orange.
Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Love Bug: Admittedly, this is not what the color I traditionally think of when I hear the word peach. However, thanks to eyeshadow palettes like Too Faced's Sweet Peach Palette and Kylie Cosmetics's Royal Peach Palette, I've realized that there are shades that embody different parts of a peach other than the traditional pinky orange color of the fruit itself. Love Bug is a medium brown mahogany shade that reminds me of the color of peach stems and peach pits.
Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Foiled Again: Bright, true orange peach color. When I think of the fruit of a peach, I instantly imagine this color.
As you can see, my lipstick collection contains a pretty wide range of colors that you could classify as peachy. In the future, I'm hoping to purchase a shade that's more of a light, peachy nude as I feel that is still missing from my collection.
