Review: Clinique Sun-Kissed Face Gelee

Happy Monday, everyone!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! I did a little retail therapy on Saturday and got to spend Sunday with my and my boyfriend's families to celebrate Father's Day, so no complaints here.

Today's post is a quick review of the Clinique Sun-Kissed Face Gelee. You may remember me raving about this in a recent monthly favorites post, as I had a sample of it and fell head over heels!

This is a gel bronzer that adds a lot of warmth to the face. It is a true, warm caramel brown as opposed to a cool toned taupe shade. Upon initial inspection I was actually frightened that it was going to be waaaay too dark on me. One small dot looks like a deep brown color with a purple tint. However, this bronzer can be very easily sheered out with either your fingers or a beauty blender to look like a natural tan.

I really love this bronzer as it gives me a healthy, subtle glow. There are no glitter particles in it and it isn't too heavy on the skin, both of which are pet peeves of mine. It really is true to its name in that it looks like your face has a sun-kissed tan. On days where I want a more dramatic look, I can pack on a bit more to really add some dimension to my cheeks. However, on a daily basis I only use the tiniest bit to add some color to my face that's reminiscent of the undead.

Given that it's a gel instead of a powder, this bronzer does remain the slightest bit tacky throughout the day. I would think that this could be resolved by applying some setting powder on your face, though I haven't tried that myself yet. I've found that it lasts all day with or without setting spray.

I'm really impressed that this bronzer manages to look natural on me as I am extremely pale. I think this would work for anyone with a light to medium skin tone due to its capability to be sheered out or built up. I've read that some people like to mix it in with their foundation or bb cream which could be nice to add some depth to your summer skin. Overall I would absolutely recommend this if you're in the market for a new bronzer!
