Happy Friday, everyone!
I hope you all had a fantastic week! This weekend should be loads of fun for me - I plan on catching up on blogging tomorrow before attending a hockey game, then will be going apple picking on Sunday. Hopefully you all have some wonderful events planned as well!
I am in full fall-mode now that we are quickly approaching October. The weather here has been uncharacteristically warm and humid for the autumn season here in Massachusetts, so I'm certainly ready for it to cool down a bit! Despite the weather not cooperating, I've been creating lots of fall-inspired makeup looks to kickstart the season. I thought it would be fun to write a post about how I transition from summer to fall makeup, including some of the products I've been reaching for thus far. Without further ado, lets dive in!
You all know I'm a huge lipstick junkie at this point. Fall is my favorite season for lipstick, simply because vampy lipstick are my go-tos. I especially love deep burgundy shades as I feel they look killer on everyone. The Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme in Dearest is the quintessential autumn merlot-toned lipstick shade. Everyone needs one in their collection!
This past year I've also dabbled around in nude lipsticks far more often than I ever did in the past. If you're not a fan of a bold, vampy lip, I would suggest checking out some brown-toned nude shades for fall. The Nyx Lip Lingerie line has some especially flattering options for a wide variety of skin tones. Some of my personal favorites are the shades Teddy, Bedtime Flirt, and Ruffle Trim.
I'm a fan of warm-toned eyeshadows year-round, and I know I'm certainly not alone in that regard. However, during the fall months these kinds shades are pretty much all I reach for,, aside from an olive green or violet shade here and there. The palette that I've been using religiously lately is the J Cat Beauty Sunset Boulevard Eyeshadow Palette. This palette has the most lovely selection of warm-toned shades, ranging from oranges, to browns, to pinks, to reddish burgundies. There are 12 matte shadows and 12 shadows shades altogether. This allows you to create a multitude of stunning looks while still channeling major pumpkin spiced princess vibes.
The last makeup item that I find myself switching up the most between summer and fall is blush. During the summer I tend to gravitate towards peachy or neutral blushes. During the fall, I especially love deeper, cooler toned blushes. I find that these complement a vampy look when used with a light hand, or can really make a statement on days where you stay pretty natural with your eyeshadow and lip picks. The blush I've been reaching for at the moment is the Milani Baked Blush in the shade Red Vino.
Now that you've read about how my makeup routine shifts with the onset of the autumn season, I want to hear about what changes you make! Which shades do you tend to gravitate towards? What is your go-to fall look? Leave a comment below so I can read all about it!
